D'Amore and Lima Take First at Preakness 2010
Preakness 2010...Perfect weather, OAR, Collective Soul, The Zach Brown Band, a beach volleyball court, lots of food, beer, Malibu Rum and some horse racing. It made for a great day in Baltimore. Eight women's teams were invited to take a little break from the routine by attending the Pro Beach East- Preakness event, presented by Under Armour. In a throwback format, the girls battled it out in pool play, with the top two teams in each of two pools, moving on to the play-offs.
Claire D'Amore & Pricilla Lima defeated Kristen Batt & Brooke Sweat in the first semi-final, while Tara Kuk & Kim Whitney went to three games to defeat Saralyn Smith & Janelle Ruen-Allen. The finals featured a closely fought battle with Pricilla & Claire topping Tara & Kim by the scores of 21-17 and 22-20. We would like to thank the girls for putting on a great show for the thousands that surrounded the court all day.

The Preakness Invitation was expanded to eight teams to accommodate the amazing response from interested players. The tourney will have an AVP flavor with the addition of ten AVP regulars to this year's event.
